Community Residential Rehabilitation Services (CRRS) is an approach to treating mental illness that strives to minimize institutional settings and allows individuals the opportunity to remain more connected to their community. Residential Recovery Services is a CRRS program that provides a stable and supportive setting for persons with serious mental illness.

Residents live in a home-like setting where they receive counseling and rehabilitation appropriate to individual levels of function, which enables the resident to progress at their own pace from the transitional living situation to living independently in the community.
Supervised living allows residents to obtain assistance and support in the least restrictive setting, limiting the need for more restrictive services. Each resident is assigned a caseworker who oversees the individual’s goal plan, progress and functioning, facilitates attainment of goals, and acts as liaison with other agencies. Guidance in educational and vocational training opportunities are another important facet of the program.

Residents are referred to social service, vocational, recreational, and medical agencies in the community as appropriate. Follow-up may be provided to individuals for six months following termination from the program.
